Barbara Michel, author of 20 novels, is a graduate of the British-American School of Writing. She is also a certified medical transcriptionist. She spoken and taught at writers’ workshops and conferences and does critiquing of manuscripts.
Several of her novels have won first place awards at writers’ workshops and conferences. Her Colorado Blaze entry won a national award in the Writers’ Digest 2006 novel contest.
While Director of the Christian Writer’s Guild, Norman Rohrer endorsed Michel’s four-novel Amish Eden Series, concluding: “Her writing is bright and creative and her plots superb.”
Michel has studied various aspects of the Bible and Christian theology. While her husband, Rev. Gerald Michel, served as a United Methodist Pastor, she directed youth and young adult gospel-singing witness groups, led services in churches of various denominations and delivered the message. Many dedicated or rededicated their lives to Christ in those services. She also served as a Sunday School teacher, led Bible study and prayer meetings, directed choirs, and offered counsel to many who sought her advice. As a soprano soloist, she gave gospel concerts.
For a few years, she and her husband broadcast a Biblical teaching and gospel singing radio program. She wrote and edited articles for the Grace Ministries publication.
